Shmira Tracks Stolen Phone

Wednesday August 6th 2014 at 5:30pm, the Shmira hotline lit up and a distraught caller stated that he dropped his cell phone outside his car as he was loading packages and that witnesses observed a black woman on a bicycle pick it up and leave without returning it to him.

A Shmira member who specializes in tracking lost and stolen phones got right to work. He tracked the phone via GPS to be moving down Kingston avenue from St. Johns towards Lincoln Place.

Shmira units were dispatched immediately and located the woman on the corner. Police arrived seconds later and found the phone in her pocket.

The owner was brought to the scene and the phone was returned to him. He was overwhelmed with emotions stating his phone had many family pictures and important documents inside.
