Serial Burglar Apprehended

Wednesday, August 15, 2012 at approximately 11:00PM a patrolling Shmira/COP member noticed a suspicious male black entering a house on Kingston Avenue between Montgomery and Crown Streets. The Shmira member immediately called it in to the central hotline. While backup was on the way the suspect exited the house carrying a box and a bag that he didn’t have with him upon entering the house. The Shmira member attempted to approach and ask the suspect what he was doing in the house when the suspect immediately began to flee. A chase ensued, but ended quickly with the help of some passersby near mikvah meir.

Police were called and the suspect was arrested. After further investigating additional charges were brought forth. The suspect is being charged with at least 6 burglaries that he either admitted to or that were recorded by surveillance cameras within the past week. Additionally, this perpetrator has a substantial criminal history including charges for 40 different burglaries.
