Shmira Recovers Stolen Bike

Monday, August 11, 2014 at 4:43PM A young boy entered the Family Dollar store on Lefferts Avenue and Kingston ave and left his bicycle outside. Upon exiting the store he spotted a male taking off with his bike. He immediately called Crown Heights Shmira requesting assistance. Shmira members arrived on the scene and after getting a full description of the thief and his bike, they began a search.
One Shmira member spotted a teenager riding a bike matching the description provided. The victim was driven to the location and positively identified the perpetrator and the bike as belonging to him.
The thief was detained. Police arrived and placed the perpetrator under arrest.
