Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at approximately 7:00 PM A Crown Heights Shmira member was on the way home from work when he noticed a struggle transpiring inside a pawn shop on Flatbush Avenue between Winthrop and Hawthorn Streets. Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at approximately 12:30 PM A Crown Heights resident noticed a group of four teens walking up to a porch on Carroll Street between Albany and Troy Avenues and taking three scooters. As the group was leaving the property they noticed they were being watched and dropped two of scooters and made off toward Troy Avenue.

Tuesday, October 14, 2014 approximately 7:30PM: A male black was riding a bike on East New York Avenue between Kingston and Brooklyn Avenues when he punched a young girl in the face knocking her over. There was no attempted robbery, only an unprovoked act of hate against a stranger. Shmira members responded and canvassed the area with the victim for a while but the perpetrator had fled the area. The victim filed a police report. Read more

Missing 80 year old
Crown Heights Shmira in coordination with the NYPD is conducting a search for a missing 80 year old male, named Yagub, Zarbailov He was last in contact with his family on October 4th after Yom Kippor. He is diabetic and suffers from memory loss.

Update: Missing Found
At approximately 10:00PM after many hours of searching, Shmira members spotted the missing, Yagub Zarbailov, limping up Rochester Avenue near Crown Street. When approached, he appeared disoriented but was otherwise in stable condition. Hatzola transported him to Kingsbrook Jewish Hospital.

Three young boys are seen walking up New York Avenue between Crown and Carroll Streets when one of them bends down, picks up a rock and throws it at a passing car. The car sustained damage to the windshield and a police report was filled.
This is one of a few incidents that occurred this past week involving young boys throwing rocks at houses and passing vehicles.

Thursday, August 21, 2014 at 9:58AM: Perp is seen in front of True Value hardware store located at 829 E New York Avenue in crown Heights, Brooklyn. He cases the area before making off with a bike that was left outside. This is believed to be the second time this perp stole a bicycle from the same location. The previous incident occurred approximately two weeks prior.

Friday, August 15th, 2014 12:55AM: Shmira received a hotline call from a concerned woman who witnessed a male black stealing chairs from her neighbor’s porch on crown street.
